You\u2019ve given birth, (partially) recovered from childbirth, made it through the postpartum period, and experienced many sleepless nights. Maybe you\u2019ve already been treated to your baby\u2019s first smile, and you\u2019re noticing that daily life is starting to feel a little more \u201cnormal\u201d again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
After 6 weeks, you\u2019ll have the option to come in for a follow-up visit. This is an appointment at our practice. During this visit, we\u2019ll discuss how the delivery, pregnancy, and postpartum period went. We\u2019ll go over how things are going and perform any necessary checks. We can check your blood pressure, measure your Hb (iron levels), check your stitches, and see if your abdominal muscles have come back together (in case you\u2019re hoping to get your six-pack back \ud83d\ude09).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Of course, you\u2019re welcome to ask any questions you may have.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
You can think of the postpartum checkup as a way to wrap up the period of your pregnancy, delivery, and postpartum recovery here at our practice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
If you gave birth at the hospital, your postpartum checkup may sometimes take place there as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
