Het moment waar jullie zo naar uitgekeken hebben!<\/p>\n<p>Het is natuurlijk belangrijk dat je kindje een goede start maakt.<\/p>\n<p>De verloskundige let op <strong>5 verschillende aspecte<br \/>\n<\/strong> bij de baby:<\/p>\n<p>De ademhaling, hartslag, kleur, spierspanning en de mate waarin de baby reageert op prikkels.<\/p>\n<p>We noemen dit de <strong>apgar-score<\/strong>. Voor elk onderdeel krijgt de baby 0-2 punten.<\/p>\n<p>De scores krijgt de baby na 1 min, na 5 minuten en na 10 minuten. De score bepaalt of je baby hulp nodig heeft na de geboorte.<\/p>\n<p>Vaak merk je als ouders het toekennen van de apgarscore niet: het is vooral een hulpmiddel voor hulpverleners onderling om aan te geven hoe de start van de baby was.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Een score van 7 tot 10 punten 1 minuut na de geboorte is normaal.<\/p>\n<p>Niet alle baby\u2019s huilen veel na de geboorte. Als er een goede ademhaling is, de baby is mooi roze en niet slap en reageert op prikkels, dan is dat helemaal geen probleem.<\/p>\n<p>Voor het beoordelen van de apgarscore kan de baby bij jou als moeder op de borst blijven liggen! Dit is voor het kindje juist heel belangrijk!<\/p>\n<p>Vaak is een baby het 1e uur na de geboorte heel wakker en alert en lukt het vaak al om de baby aan de borst te laten drinken. We noemen dit 1e uur ook wel \u2018<strong>het gouden uur<\/strong>\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>Als door omstandigheden de baby niet bij z\u2019n moeder kan zijn, is het voor zowel de partner als baby heel fijn dat het kindje dan bij papa huidcontact krijgt op zijn blote borst tot mama er weer is!<\/p>\n<p>Na geboorte is de baby nog verbonden aan de <strong>navelstreng<\/strong>. Ergens tussen een paar minuten en een half uur is de navelstreng uitgeklopt: er stroomt dan geen bloed meer door. Als er na de geboorte sprake is van weinig bloedverlies is, kan er worden afgewacht met het doorknippen of afnavelen van de navelstreng.<\/p>\n<p>Er k\u00fannen medische redenen zijn om de navelstreng sneller door te laten knippen of medicijnen toe te dienen om de placenta sneller geboren te laten worden.<\/p>\n<p>De placenta moet binnen een uur geboren zijn. Als dit niet zo is, wordt de kans groter dat de placenta met een operatie verwijderd moet worden. De verloskundige houdt dit en de hoeveelheid bloedverlies na de geboorte in de gaten.<\/p>\n<p>Een kleine hoeveelheid bloedverlies na de geboorte is normaal.<\/p>\n<p>Na het \u2018gouden uur\u2019 wordt de baby door de verloskundige nagekeken. We were heading into an unfamiliar period, with all the questions we had, the anxiety, and the first little discomforts! They put us at ease right away. The intimate, small-scale setting made us feel right at home. Everyone hears you and knows you. They\u2019re available 24\/7. You can call them even for the smallest things\u2014to discuss something or just to share your story. And if necessary, they\u2019ll be at your door as soon as possible, or they\u2019ll schedule appointments at the hospital for you. They\u2019re not just there for the baby and the mother\u2014they\u2019re also a listening ear for you as a (soon-to-be) family.
