During the first few weeks of the pregnancy, we ended up at Aan de Laak. Our first instinct was: “That’s where we need to be!“ And we were right! The very first phone call, when we asked if we could sign up, immediately put us at ease. We were heading into an unfamiliar period, with all the questions we had, the anxiety, and the first little discomforts! They put us at ease right away. The intimate, small-scale setting made us feel right at home. Everyone hears you and knows you. They’re available 24/7. You can call them even for the smallest things—to discuss something or just to share your story. And if necessary, they’ll be at your door as soon as possible, or they’ll schedule appointments at the hospital for you. They’re not just there for the baby and the mother—they’re also a listening ear for you as a (soon-to-be) family. We’re so grateful to the ladies at Aan de Laak and look back on a special time they were a part of.

De dames van Aandelaak waren mijn verloskundigen gedurende drie zwangerschappen. Bij de eerste twee heb ik ook meegedaan met de Centering pregnancy bijeenkomsten, wat ik overigens een aanrader vind! De dames zijn persoonlijk, warm, doortastend, gezellig, goed geïnformeerd en oprecht geïnteresseerd. Tijdens mijn laatste zwangerschap van onze tweeling had ik mijn controles in het ziekenhuis, maar werd ik alsnog om de zoveel tijd gebeld door Aandelaak om even bij mij in te checken hoe het ging. Ook na de (vroeg)geboorte hadden we nauw contact en heb ik mij onwijs gesteund gevoeld. Zij zorgen ervoor dat je zowel tijdens als na je zwangerschap je je gezien voelt en dat ze je kunnen ondersteunen waar dat nodig is. - Esmee Blom-Gommans
