We’ve already received several questions about the COVID-19 vaccine. It’s completely understandable! What’s the best course of action if you’re pregnant? Or if you’re trying to conceive? What if you’re breastfeeding?
Pregnancy
The risk of developing a severe COVID-19 infection is slightly higher than for non-pregnant women. It remains a small risk.
It is recommended that you get vaccinated against COVID-19 if you are called to do so. The pros and cons are listed in the Information sheet: Should you get the COVID-19 vaccine or not?.
Desire to Have Children
Even if you are planning to have a child, you can still get vaccinated against COVID-19.
Breastfeeding
It is likely that the COVID-19 vaccine, just like other inactivated vaccines, not present in breast milk ends up there, and vaccination poses no objection whatsoever. Further research is still needed on this matter.
