Follow-up Inspection

Follow-up Inspection

And then, all of a sudden, it's already been 6 weeks since you gave birth. So much has happened!

You’ve given birth, (partially) recovered from childbirth, made it through the postpartum period, and experienced many sleepless nights. Maybe you’ve already been treated to your baby’s first smile, and you’re noticing that daily life is starting to feel a little more “normal” again.

After 6 weeks, you’ll have the option to come in for a follow-up visit. This is an appointment at our practice. During this visit, we’ll discuss how the delivery, pregnancy, and postpartum period went. We’ll go over how things are going and perform any necessary checks. We can check your blood pressure, measure your Hb (iron levels), check your stitches, and see if your abdominal muscles have come back together (in case you’re hoping to get your six-pack back 😉).

Of course, you’re welcome to ask any questions you may have.

You can think of the postpartum checkup as a way to wrap up the period of your pregnancy, delivery, and postpartum recovery here at our practice.

If you gave birth at the hospital, your postpartum checkup may sometimes take place there as well.

If you'd like a follow-up visit, you can schedule it with Wilna. If you're participating in Centering Pregnancy, the follow-up visit will be your final session.
